Welcome to my playground.
A space meant to be a little less 'buttoned up' and open for exploration. Enjoy.
At my core, I draw energy from creating in both work and play.
Embracing the discomfort of a new and unfamiliar medium fosters growth and resilience, reminding me that without stepping into the unknown, the extent of my capabilities remains undiscovered.
'Play' inside of a new medium is an exercise in curiosity, cultivating a mindset of abundance and grounded confidence in uncertain times rather than succumbing to a fearful or scarcity mindset.
Home Depot Dress
One day, I ran an errand to Home Depot and when I passed the rope section I had an almost immediate urge to knit it. So of course I bought some. A photographer friend saw the finished piece and pulled it for an upcoming Desnudo Shoot.
Moon Juice occasionally sent me product to play with and post about. Here's one of the pieces of content I produced for them.
And while we're on the subject of cakes... here's a cake I saved from a botched delivery!

In my former life...
Pictured is Kimbra performing on tour in London in one of my zero waste couture pieces.
Back when I was in fashion school, I created a zero waste couture thesis collection. I posted it to an arts portfolio site and ended up getting a lot of interest from stylists wanting to pull the items for their clients. Upon graduating I had already begun immersing myself in the startup world via internships and jobs and was excited to acquire skills beyond just the draping and constructing of garments. Although I don't presently make couture pieces, I've included this chapter of my life as part of my 'playgound' projects because I look back fondly on what I am capable of creating.
My dear friend Grayson Wilder, a talented photographer who was just starting his career at the time, filmed a video featuring all of my zero waste couture pieces I had made that year.
Zero Waste Couture - Stills
All pieces made by me, styled and photographed by Grayson Wilder, hair by Neil Pittman, makeup by Isabella Rosado.
Zero Waste Couture - In The Media
Other shoots and shows these pieces were pulled for.
Zero Waste Couture - Repurposed
Sometimes my pieces are reincarnated into Halloween costumes like when my partner and I were Spaghetti & [Italian Candy] Stuffed Meatballs
Other Textile-Related Explorations
Things became more experimental in this chapter in my life and I just let myself explore wherever I was curious. Swipe through to see sketches, experiments, and process pictures.
My Cooking Era
My love for cooking stems back to 2017 when I started a food Instagram called @craftedbowls with my roommate at the time.
@CraftedBowls was a smoothie bowl-focused Instagram page run by Mary Lempres and me while in college featuring our creations from 2015-2017. We worked with over 40 brands including Athleta, Rebbl, Hippeas & more; and were reposted by companies like Whole Foods and Woodstock Foods.
When my love for cooking re-emerged during Covid, I became obsessed with honing flavor profiles and techniques like perfecting a flakey goat butter galette crust or creating naturally colorful corn tortillas from scratch. The cakes I made became more about combining flavors like chocolate espresso cake with alternating layers of whiskey vanilla buttercream and hazelnut buttercream layers. Or checkered honey lemon and matcha cake with jasmine infused icing.
My Painting Era
My first ever painting is a visual representation of embracing new experiences without expectation of the outcome. Despite my lack of formal training, I found joy in blending colors and creating shapes and shades that transformed into a recognizable subject.

Forever in my Reading Era
My number one obsession is reading BOOKS!
I read about 30-50 books annually, split evenly between fiction and non-fiction.
While non-fiction offers insights from leaders and experts, fiction is known to benefit brain development, particularly the cortical region responsible for complex thought (Neuroreport). Reading fiction has also positively impacted my ability to navigate sensitive and nuanced issues via experiencing diverse perspectives and unique internal worlds. This has helped enrich my work as I’m better able to connect and understand others.
Below are a handful of my current favorites but follow along on my Goodreads for what I'm currently reading.
